The Youngstown Playhouse will present the Tony Award nominated musical revue, BLUES IN THE NIGHT, weekends, July 31- August 2, and August 7-9, at the Playhouse, 600 Playhouse Lane. Curtain time for Fridays and Saturdays, is 7:30 p.m., and for the Sunday matinees at 3 p.m.

BLUES IN THE NIGHT is set in a rundown Chicago hotel in 1938. It focuses on three women's relationships with a "low down, snake of a man!" Their interwoven story is told through the the torch songs and blues music of Duke Ellington, Johnny Mercer and Harold Arlen, among others. Some of the show's well known songs include, "Am I Blue?;" "I Gotta Right To Sing the Blues;" " Willow Weep For Me;" "Lover Man" and the title song, "Blues In The Night." 

The cast of the Playhouse production?features Carla Gipson, Nikita Jones, Amariah McIntosh and Martin Charles Moore.? Music will be provided by the "Juke Joint Band," led by Debbie Fears and includes Gary Strothers and Harold Rollins. BLUES IN THE NIGHT is directed by John Cox. James Lybarger is the set designer and technical director, and Dorene White serves as stage manager.
