NOW ONSTAGE AT CONVERGENCE-CONTINUUM BIG LOVE!

Love, in all its many guises is up for grabs, as fifty brides (all
sisters), unwilling to accept their arranged marriages, flee their fifty
grooms (their cousins), running away from Greece and seeking refuge in a
villa on the coast of Italy in Charles Mee's zany modern re-make of one of
the western world's oldest comedies. And, at this coastal Italian villa,
home to a decidedly quirky assortment of characters, the fifty grooms
catch up with the brides, and mayhem ensues. Grooms arrive by helicopter
in their flight suits. Brides repeatedly throw themselves to the ground.
There’s skinny-dipping in the fountain, pop songs, a romantic waltz, a
dance in drag, and, finally, unable to escape their forced marriages, 49
of the brides gleefully dispatch 49 of the grooms – and one bride falls
in love. About the same odds as today.

BIG LOVE opened this past weekend to packed houses, and continues its run
Thu-Sat through August 22 at the Liminis, 2438 Scranton Rd. in Cleveland’s
historic Tremont neighborhood. All shows are at 8 pm. Tickets are $15
