* ANNUAL OPEN HOUSE AT SOLON CENTER FOR THE ARTS
FOR EARLY-BIRD FALL REGISTRATION

*The Annual End of Summer / Pre-Fall Semester Open House at Solon Center for
the Arts is scheduled for Sunday, August 16 from 2:00 pm to 5:00 pm. Each
department of music, theater, dance and art will be represented by
department coordinators and faculty who will be able to guide you and assist
with the registration process.

Unless you are a ClubSCA Member (which entitles you to receive discounts
throughout the year), this is the only day that SCA offers a special
discount on classes to the general public for fall registration. A coupon
was printed on the back cover of the fall catalogue that Solon residents
should have received by mail in July. Families will receive $10 off any
class registration of $100 or more and $5 off any class registration of less
than $100 (not valid on Arts4Kids, private lessons, production fees and
workshops). Additional catalogues are available at Solon Center for the
Arts.

Guests are also invited to walk across the street to the Solon Historical
Society for the annual antique car show. The museum will be open from 2:00
pm to 5:00 pm for visitors to experience the history of the community and
view the beautifully maintained cars from the past in the adjacent parking
lot.

The SCA Open House coincides with the final performance of "City of Angels" a
musical comedy by Larry Gelbart (of the TV show MASH fame), in the Calvetta
Bros. Floor Show Theater at 4:00 pm. The Tony Award winning show is a
tribute to Hollywood and classic films. Tickets are $8 for seniors and
students and $10 for adults. All seats are reserved.

And to top off the afternoon, the drawing for the Bedroom Makeover valued at
$2,500 will take place on the stage at the top of Act II of the show. The
raffle is generously provided by Calvetta Bros. Furniture and includes a
complete bedroom suite with the mattress and box springs worth $1,800 plus a
$700 flooring allowance. Raffle tickets will be available up until the
drawing and are $5 a piece or six for $20.

Solon Center for the Arts is located at 6315 SOM Center Road on the corner
of Bainbridge and SOM Center Roads. Additional parking is available in the
Sears Grand lot in back of the Solon Historical Society. For more
information and to purchase show or raffle tickets, call (440) 337-1400.
