Tony Brown's review said: "Kent expertly surmounts the staging challenges of the Porthouse amphitheater and manages to use the outdoorsy setting to her advantage. 
 
As Annie, Kayce Cummings might not have all the vocal firepower of Merman, but she and her fine voice have much allure and innocence. Fabio Polanco is a cool, easygoing and understated Frank, adding complexity to a character too often portrayed as a cardboard cowboy. 
 
Other professionals turning in strong performances include Marc Moritz as the wheeler-dealer impresario and MaryAnn Black as Frank's meddlesome assistant.. ..With this "Annie," Porthouse deserves to steal a few extra bows."
