As Annie, Kayce Cummings might not have all the vocal firepower of Merman, but she and her fine voice have much allure and innocence. Fabio Polanco is a cool, easygoing and understated Frank, adding complexity to a character too often portrayed as a cardboard cowboy. 
Other professionals turning in strong performances include Marc Moritz as the wheeler-dealer impresario and MaryAnn Black as Frank's meddlesome assistant. 
With this "Annie," Porthouse deserves to steal a few extra bows."
