About the Play:
An award-winning architect watches his life crumble after he admits to an adulterous affair in this highly provocative drama by the celebrated playwright of Who's Afraid of Virginia Woolf? Framed within an engaging hybrid of dramatic realism and absurdism, Albee's prototypical couple - a buttoned-up husband and a vulnerable wife - explodes all charades in a marital free-for-all that poses questions about the limits of acceptable morality. Winner of the 2003 Tony Award for Best Play.
About the Director:
Director for the production is Derek Davidson. Dr. Davidson has 30 years of experience as a performing artist. A professional actor and director, Derek is also a published playwright, and was an Associate Artistic Director and the Coordinator of the Appalachian Festival of Plays and Playwrights at the Barter Theatre in Virginia. He has taught at Universities in Tennessee, North Carolina, Ohio and Washington, and has a BFA from Florida State University, an MA from Miami University in Ohio, and a PhD in Theatre History from the University of Washington.
The Ohio Arts Council helped fund this program with state tax dollars to encourage economic growth,
education excellence and cultural enrichment for all Ohioans.
