Coach House Theatre will be holding auditions for Kauffman and Hart's
classic You Can't Take It With You on October 4 & 5.

Auditions for You Can't Take It With You


Auditions for Coach House Theatre's next show, Kauffman & Hart's classic
comedy, will be on Sunday and Monday, October 4 and 5


Open auditions will be held at 5:30pm Sunday, October 4, and 7pm Monday,
October 5, at the theatre.  Please prepare a one or two minute contemporary,
comic monologue, or a choose your own short scene to read from the play.
(Scenes will not be available at the audition, they must be chosen in
advance.)

You Can't Take It With You will run from December 3 to December 20, and the
cast includes adults of all ages: 9 men and 7 women.  Rehearsals are
generally 7-10 pm Sundays through Thursdays (although they may be scheduled
for other days, as needed.)

 

THE STORY: At first the Sycamores seem mad, but it is not long before we
realize that if they are mad, the rest of the world is madder. Father
designs fireworks in the basement, Grandpa refuses to pay his income taxes,
and mother and sister take on new careers (author, artist, ballerina...) at
whim.  All bring home eccentric guests, some of whom never even bother to
leave.  But when daughter Alice begins dating a young man from a socially
prominent family, and his parents are invited to a dinner of corn flakes and
chaos, everyone has some acclimating to do!
