Hi Everybody!

*FPAC (Fairmount Performing Arts Conservatory*) is about to embark on its
seventh summer of providing high caliber training and production
opportunities to young people and this year we are adding some amazing new
programs and staff !!!  Our training will once again be located at Hathaway
Brown School and our mainstage productions at Mayfield Village Civic Center.

We’ll be providing complete details in a few weeks on our website, but in
the meantime here are a few of the highlights…

For the *Professional Training Workshop*, new students will take *“The Core”
* training and students with two previous sessions of FPAC will have the
opportunity to continue in *“The Core”* *OR* audition and/or interview
for *“Advanced
Training.”*   Full or half (a la carte) day options are available for
*“Advanced
Training!”*  AND, we are expanding to eight weeks, with three total
sessions: two sessions of three weeks (June 21 – July 9, July 12 – 30) and
one of two weeks (August 2 – 13). Attend one or all!

*“The Core”* (6th gr – college) training will include acting/scene study in
the mornings, and voice/projection/diction, movement for the actor, dance
and audition technique in the afternoons – all essential skills for any
actor.  The staff for *“the core”* will include Carol Pribble, Elizabeth Ann
Townsend and Nick Koesters.

*“Advanced Training”* (see ages below) will consist of acting/scene study in
the mornings for those who opt for full day, with the options below
available for three hours in the afternoon. Students enrolled in *“advanced
training”* take their specialty for the entire session. Most of these
workshops are available for only one of the sessions, and acceptance into
these programs is highly selective by AUDITION and/or INTERVIEW!

*Musical Theatre Workshop – “GLEE Club” *(8th gr – college)*
**Instructors:  Bebe Weinberg Katz and other staff to be announced.*
We will help you become a *“triple threat performer.”*  Work on music and
choreography from popular music and musical theatre selections. Culminates
in public performances.

*Advance Acting Training through Classical Play Production *(8th gr -
college)*
**Instructor: Mitchell B. Fields, Professor – Baldwin Wallace College, AEA
Actor, Director and Teacher*
Learn advanced acting skills by working on an entire classical play
culminating with a performance.

*Improv Theatre Ensemble *(8th gr college)*
**Instructor: Marc Moritz, AEA Actor, Director*
Develop improv performance skills using the techniques of Chicago’s Second
City , ImprovOlympics and TheatreSports. Culminates in a public performance.
*
Advanced Acting Training through Contemporary Play Production *(8th gr -
college)
*Instructor: Carol Jaffee Pribble, Drama Director – University School*
Learn advanced acting skills by working on an entire contemporary play
culminating with a performance.

*Directing Workshop - “Putting it Together: A Director at Work” *(9th gr -
college)*
**Instructor: Seth Gordon, Associate Artistic Director – Cleveland Play
House*
This intensive course will take the serious directing student through the
entire directing process, including the first time you read the script,
deciding its main event, script analysis, research, design, staging and
working with actors and other collaborators.*

*Acting Shakespeare *(8th gr - college)
*Instructor: Wayne Turney, AEA actor, Professor – DeSales University
*Guest Artist Tom Fulton, AEA actor, Director, Chagrin Arts Academy Director
This workshop offers classes in speaking verse, script analysis, voice for
the stage, movement, audition techniques and stage combat.

*Playwriting Workshop *(8th gr - college)*
**Instructor: Sarah Morton, Award Winning Actor & Teacher*
Explore dramatic structure, and the art of writing believable, ‘playable’
dialogue.  The workshop will end with a staged reading of scenes from your
plays-in-progress.

*Dance Workshop *(6th gr - college)*
**Instructors: Bebe Weinberg Katz, Fredrick Moody, Kyle Primous, and others.
*
The Dance Workshop is designed to create a well rounded dancer who is able
to perform a wide variety of styles and techniques.


*AND, Special one shot Workshops on Sundays with Brian Zoldessy!
*(Teens and Adults)

   - Getting Your Act Together: How To Be A Working Actor
   - The DNA of Acting: Script Analysis for the Actor

*Production Workshop* (1-6th grade) is also expanding to eight weeks, with

supervisor, assisted by Natalie Green and other staff to be announced.

*FPAC presents!* Will be producing three productions this year at Mayfield

*Children of Eden* – *Performances: July 8 –19

**Honk! Junior** – Performances: July 29 – August 1
director to be announced…

**Pride and Prejudice *– Performances: August 12 – 15
Directed by Mitchell B. Fields*

Children of Eden* is open to 3rd grade – college, *Honk Junior* is open to 3
rd grade – 8th grade and *Pride and Prejudice* is open to 7rd grade –
college.  It is possible to be in both *Children of Eden* and *Pride and
Prejudice* as the rehearsals for *Pride and Prejudice* don’t start until
after *Children of Eden* opens.  If you are cast in *Honk Junior* that will
be your sole production.
