Audition Announcement for ANTIC's Winter Family Gala, the play Beauty and the Beast

When:            January 2, 3. and 9, 2010 from 2:30 PM - 4:30PM 

                      January 8, 2010 from 7 PM - 9 PM

Where:            Quirk Cultural Center

                       1201 Grant Avenue

                       Cuyahoga Falls, Ohio 44223  

Seeking: Cast of 20-25, Adults, teens, children, and dancers (ages 5-9) are needed to bring this beloved fairy tale to life.  Auditions will consist of a reading from the script. Call the information line for the audition time for the dancers.   Dancers will be auditioned on Saturday January 2nd from 2 PM - 2:30 PM and on January 8th from 6:30 PM - 7 PM. 

As punishment for rebuffing a powerful witch, a selfish prince becomes a true "beast" until someone will love him for himself. Many years later, a poor widow stumbles onto the castle and innocently plucks a forbidden rose. The Beast sentences her to death, but first allows her to return home and bid farewell to her family. Her daughter Beauty, agrees to go to the castle and stay with the Beast if her mother's life is spared. When Beast kindly permits Beauty to return home briefly, Graspo and Greedo sneak into the castle, hoping to steal a treasure. In a wildly funny and exciting scene, not only do they fight the Beast, they fight the furniture! With the aid of an enchanted mirror, Beauty sees that Beast doubts her love for him and she returns to the castle. Her love restores Beast to his true form and happiness reigns. 

Our performances are March 5, 6, 12, 13 curtain 8 PM and March 7 and 14 curtain at 3:00 PM.
