FIRST MONDAYS ends its Dobama season on Monday, January 11 with a reading of
For the Price of a Cow by Margaret Lynch.

FIRST MONDAYS rounds out its third and final season at Dobama Theatre with a
reading of For the Price of a Cow by Margaret Lynch on Monday, January 11 at
7 p.m. in Dobama’s new theatre at 2340 Lee Road in Cleveland Heights. The
cast includes Chuck Kartali, Paula Duesing, Molly McGinness, Sally Groth,
Brian McNally, Nancy Telzerow and Hassan Rogers.

The year is 1912 and young Emmett Gaughan has just arrived in Cleveland from
Black Sod Bay seeking the aunt who emigrated twenty years ago and has not
been heard from since. Meanwhile Anna Monahan sits locked in silence
reliving the events that brought her from the west coast of Ireland to a
Turney Road mental institution. Her nephew’s arrival may be the chance to
escape the tyranny of the past if Anna will only break her silence. For the
Price of a Cow explores the true cost of family loyalty.

Playwright Margaret Lynch served for many years as dramaturg for the Great
Lakes Theater Festival. She is a member of the Playwrights Unit at the
Cleveland Play House.

The program is free although a $5 donation to cover the cost of the reading
is always appreciated. You’ll find plenty of free parking outside the
theater and across the street in the main library lot. Call 216.932.3396 to
make a reservation.

On Monday, February 1, FIRST MONDAYS launches a new season of readings at
The Alcazar Hotel with The Ravens Feed Us by Margaret Hunt. Ravens tells
the story of five young daughters and their love for their charismatic and
feckless father. A kind of “Tree Grows in Brooklyn” times five, Ravens was
selected for development at the New Harmony Project in 2008 and was also
presented in Italian and in English at the Roma-New York A/R Theatre
Festival in Rome.
