The Cleveland Play House Announces Audition Techniques Master Class for
Adults

Adult Audition Techniques Master Class: How to Get the Part
8 Weeks
February 13-April 3
Saturdays 12:00-4:00 PM
$200 
Age: 18 and Up

This course is designed for serious experienced adult acting students who
want to pursue a career as a professional actor.  Students will learn how to
choose appropriate monologues and leave the class with three strong audition
pieces: a contemporary, comedic, and classical monologue.  Students will be
trained in how to master both cold and prepared readings as well as learn
the ins and outs of the New York and Los Angeles casting industries.  The
course will culminate in students receiving feedback on their audition
pieces from Artistic Director Michael Bloom and Talent Agent Doug Snyder
from the Talent Group.   

The Class will be taught by JASON KAUFMAN

JASON KAUFMAN has performed in many stage productions both in NYC,
regionally and internationally. He appeared as Yasha in the Cherry Orchard
at the Williamstown Theatre Festival, the last production to be performed on
the Adams Memorial Stage. He has worked at ART, Primary Stages and
Playwrights Horizons in NYC. He has had the honor to work with directors
Robert Woodruff, Andrei Serban, Anne Bogart, Karin Coonrod, Michael Grief
and others. His television and film credits include guest appearances on
“Dexter,” “Without a Trace,” “The Unit,” “CSI: Miami” and in the films
Fantastic Four and Hoodwinked. He is currently directing a workshop of Sarah
Kane's 4:48 psychosis and will shortly direct two short films he wrote for a
Cleveland-based production company. He has taught courses in both Michael
Chekov and Meisner techniques and served as an acting coach for film and
television. Clients including Edi Gathegi (Twilight, House, Death Sentence),
Jeff Branson (“Guiding Light,” “All My Children”), Chris Messina (Jules and
Julia, Vicky Cristina Barcelona), Tara Sands (Fridays) and more. Jason has
trained at the Moscow Art Theatre and earned an MFA from the Institute for
Advanced Theater Training at Harvard University
