*Actors’ Summit Announces Another Regional Premiere *

Actors’ Summit, Hudson’s professional theater, is preparing for the regional
premiere of *Last Train to Nibroc* by Arlene Hutton. This World War II
romance captures the optimism of America as it follows one couple’s journey
out of misunderstanding to love. *Last Train to Nibroc* will have a preview
performance on Thursday, February 11, 2010, followed by the official opening
on Friday, February 12. The play will run Thursdays, Fridays & Saturdays at
8:00 PM and Sunday afternoons at 2:00 PM through February 28 at the theater
in downtown Hudson.

*About the Play*

Two young people meet in December 1940 on a California to New York bound
train. May is a self-admitted goody two shoes schoolteacher with a "never
no mind" certainty about right and wrong. She is feisty and religious and
plans to become a missionary. Raleigh is a young soldier who has recently
been discharged from the Army air corps. May will change trains to complete
her journey home to Corbin, Kentucky. Raleigh is also a Kentuckian (in
fact, his home is close enough to Corbin for him to visit the annual Nibroc
Festival), but he is headed for New York City to become a writer. This
ambition has been bolstered by the fact that the train is carrying the
bodies of two famous writers -- F. Scott Fitzgerald and Nathaniel West.

* *

Out of this chance meeting begins an unlikely romance that over time, draws
them together and pushes them apart. Over the next three years, Raleigh and
May experience the changes in the country caused by the war, and changes in
their lives as they fight, challenge and eventually discover their love. There
is no fairytale, happily ever after ending here -- just an honest look at
falling in love in simpler times, when people rode trains, wrote letters and
had dinner with their family on Sunday.
