The 2380 Project Film Festival is back for its fifth year and will take place on February 19th, 20th, and 21st at the University of Akron Student Union Gardner Theatre. The festival is sponsored by the University of Akron student and alumni organization, The 2380 Project. The organization was named for the distance between Hollywood, California and The University of Akron.

The
2380 Project Film Festival previously ran in 2006 and 2007 as the Akron
Independent Film and Video Festival. After some festival reorganization
and a slight name change we are back with new movies from Ohio
filmmakers. This is a unique opportunity for students and residents to
discover new talent as well as for regional artists who wish to display
their work.

The opening night of the festival will begin with the premiere of The 2380 Project’s new film Myra a feature-length film written by Brandon Szabo and directed by Mike Campanizzi. The following two days will be full of short and feature films submitted over the past few months. The festival will finish off with an awards ceremony on Sunday followed by a second screening of Myra shortly after. Posters are available for both Myra and The Festival itself if you require them or would just like copies please contact Ben Sliwa at the e-mail provided.
