SUMMER PROGRAM 2010
PROFESSIONAL TRAINING WORKSHOP   NEW!! This summer you have the opportunity
to specialize and take "advanced training" workshops!


*DANCE WORKSHOP
Instructors: Bebe Weinberg Katz, Amy Compton, Fredrick Moodie and Kyle
Primous
Dates: Session One (three weeks) June 21 – July 9 and Session Three (two
weeks) August 2 – 13; Mondays - Fridays, 1:30 - 3:30pm
Limit: Open
Ages: 6th grade - College

The Dance Workshop is designed to create a well rounded dancer who is able
to perform a wide variety of styles and techniques. Each dancer will need to
excel in one or more of the following offerings: ballet, modern, jazz. The
goal of this program is to prepare the dancers for the concert or musical
theater stage by training them to be versatile dancers. Every day there will
be a leveled class in basic ballet technique. Students will need to audition
for placement in either the beginning or the intermediate/advanced class.
There will also be regular classes in modern dance, jazz and musical theater
repertoire. Also included in the program will be master classes in tap,
character, ballroom, partnering skills, turns and choreography. Additionally
there will be classes in nutrition for the dancer, injury prevention and
dance costuming. The faculty members are all masters teacher with years of
performing, teaching and choreographic experience to share with the
students.

Auditions and interviews for Dance Workshop and / or Musical Theatre (GLEE
Club) will be held on Saturday, April 17, 9:00 am to Noon. All students will
be required to take a one hour dance placement class/audition from 10:00 am
to 11:00 am. In addition, students will need to sign up for a brief
interview. Interviews are in small groups of 4-8 and are scheduled in two
slots before the dance class: 9:00 - 9:30 am and 9:30 -10:00 am or
immediately after from 11:00 - 11:30 am or 11:30 - Noon. Please wear dance
clothes and ballet or jazz shoes. No character shoes, pointe shoes, jazz
sneakers or bare feet will be acceptable at the audition. Also bring a brief
resume or information sheet showing your dance experience, instructors, and
roles you may have had that required you to dance. Sign up for an audition

please bring a resume and picture to your audition. Also, please download

In some cases, teacher, director and/or FPAC Professional Staff
recommendations will suffice for automatic acceptance into the program
