"Monky Business" Happening on Hudson Players' Stage

Musical Comedy filled with Monks, Mayhem and Merriment Now Playing!

 

The Hudson Players have brought Monky Business to the stage at the Barlow
Community Center in Hudson and the results are a good time for all.  The
musical comedy with a book by Todd Mueller and music and lyrics by Gregg
Opelka will be presented February 19, 20, 21, 26 & 27 and offers plenty of
monks, mayhem and merriment. 

Monky Business takes its audience on journey that includes poisoned
venison-and-whipped-cream pie, a radio mystery, a zany ventriloquist act, a
witty Abbot-and-Costello-inspired routine about faith, a minor miracle and
plenty of great, hummable songs. It all takes place as five fun-loving monks
(including one who can't talk) battle good against evil during a radiothon
fundraiser to keep a developer from turning their monastery into a casino.
This hilarious hit musical is a la "Nunsense." Features catchy, hummable and
funny songs such as "The Mohair Rag", "That God Guy", and "The Miracle
Monk".

The Clinton Herald said about one of the original productions: "For a couple
of hours of pure entertainment and laughs, you'll want to see Monky
Business." The Rochester Messenger said: "Go see it and consider yourself
blessed". Come see it and your quote could appear hear next!

Monky Business is part of the Hudson Player 65th anniversary season which is
sponsored in part by The Hudson Community Foundation and The Hudson Rotary.

"This is a great show for not only the entire family to enjoy, but it's one
that can also be enjoyed with friends, church groups, bowling teams and
more," said Gary Maher, Hudson Players board member. "The humor is fun and
topical and the music and talent is very engaging. We're confident it is
going to be a 'not to be missed' production.

The Hudson Players have also brought back their popular Dinner and Show
Package for this event. For one low price of $59, theater goers will get two
tickets to the show and dinner for two at Hudson's Restaurant on the Green.

Monky Business is being directed by Matty Sayre, with music direction by
Keith Stiver and is produced by Adam and Debi Young. The show features Steve
Ryan, Eric Oswald, Roger Clary, Frank Lid and Brian Pichola 

 


Performance dates are February 5, 6, 12, 13, 19, 20, 21, 26 & 27. Tickets
