[NEohioPAL] First Mondays hosts TAKE NINE on Monday, March 1 at The Alcazar

“Take Nine” brings their special blend of poetry and performance to The
Alcazar on Monday, March 1, at 7 p.m. as part of the First Mondays reading
series. The program features Gail Bellamy, Kathleen Cerveny, Katie Daley,
Meredith Holmes, Bonnie Jacobson, Darlene Montonaro, and Cindy Washabaugh.
All seven are published poets. Taken together their credits read like a “Who
’s Who” of poetry in Cleveland.

Gail Bellamy is the current City of Cleveland Heights Poet Laureate and the
recipient of a 2010 Creative Workforce Fellowship in Literature from
Community Partnership for Arts and Culture ... Kathleen Cerveny became
WCPN/Cleveland Public Radio’s first producer and broadcast journalist for
the arts and serves as Director of Evaluation and Institutional Learning for
the Cleveland Foundation .... Katie Daley is currently deep in the process
of creating a new CD as a member of the Undercurrents, a band that marries
spoken word with slide guitars, mandolins, and song ...  Meredith Holmes
served as the first Poet Laureate of Cleveland Heights in 2005. Her poems
appear in Garrison Keillor’s anthology, Good Poems for Bad Times...Bonnie
Jacobson is the author of two poetry collections and has been twice
nominated for a Pushcart Prize ... Darlene Montonaro served for 12 years as
Executive Director of The Poets’ & Writers’ League of Greater Cleveland (now
The Lit)... Cindy Washabaugh teaches courses in creative writing and leads
workshops in the therapeutic arts for universities and organizations
throughout Northeast Ohio.

The Alcazar is located at 2450 Derbyshire, in the Cedar Fairmount
neighborhood at the top of Cedar Hill in Cleveland Heights. Admission is $5
