*SOLON** CENTER** FOR THE ARTS ANNOUNCES WINNERS OF THE
2nd ANNUAL PLAYWRITING COMPETITION*



Solon Center for the Arts is proud to announce the winners of the 2nd Annual
SCA Playwriting Competition. This competition presented students, grades 7
through 12, with the opportunity to submit original pieces of drama to be
considered for potential production at SCA in the spring of 2010. Judges
Kristina Ferencie, Dominick Chicotel and Alison Garrigan have selected first
place, second place and third place winners, in addition to an honorable
mention.



First Place was awarded to Catherine Pace of Shaker Heights for “Ana”,
Second Place to Brandon Lambert and John Michael Sudsina of Aurora for “An
Intergalactic Vacation”, Third Place to Marisa Apple of Solon for “Perfectly
Wrong”, and Honorable Mention to Kiera Finelli of Solon for “R.I.P. Bluby”.



“Ana”, “An Intergalactic Vacation” and “Perfectly Wrong” will be presented
this May in the SCA One Act Festival directed by Larry Nehring. The SCA
Spotlight Youth Theater students (grades 5 through 8) will perform each
piece in its entirety with an excerpt from the honorable mention play, “R.I.P.
Bluby”.



            The SCA One Act Festival will be held on Friday, May 28, 2010 at
7:00 pm in the Calvetta Bros. Floor Show Theater at Solon Center for the
Arts. Tickets are $4.00 and can be reserved by calling (440) 337-1400.
