                               FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

The Youngstown Playhouse Youth Theatre will present CINDERELLA, Friday, April 30 at 7 p.m. and Saturday, May 1 at 2:30 p.m. Daytime performances for area schools will take place on Wednesday, April 28-Friday, April 30.

The beloved fairy tale - "told as you remember it"- has been adapted for the stage by playwright, Michele L. Vacca, and is produced with the special permission of "Classics On Stage," Chicago, Illinois. The story concerns Cinderella, who spends her days cleaning and cooking for her haughty stepmother, Frieda Frumppkin, and her two selfish and silly stepsisters, Gertrude and Thelma. When the king's son, Prince Phillip, returns to the kingdom, a ball is to be held so that the prince might meet and select a future wife. When Frieda denies Cinderella the opportunity to attend, the young girl is rescued by her Fairy Godmother, who works her magic to provide a golden coach, a ball gown, and of course, the glass slippers. But Cinderella is warned that she must return home by midnight, when all of the magic will come to an end!

The Playhouse production is directed by Patricia M. Fagan. The set and lighting designs are by James Lybarger, assisted by John Pecano. Robert D. Joki is the costumer. Matt Stevens serves as stage manager, assisted by Nicholas Berent. The cast includes Lindsay Stevens, Christoffer Carter, Carla Napoli, Gabriella Napoli, Claire Killian, Barbara Knight Berent and Nick Narkum.

The Saturday matinee is followed by a complimentary "Autograph Party," for the audience, cast and crew.

Ticket prices are $7 for adults and $5 for children. Reservations are recommended and may be made by calling the box office at (330) 788-8739.
