Dear Instrumental and Elementary Music Teachers

I want to invite you and your students to attend the TrueNorth Symphony's
annual Family Concert and Musical Instrument "Petting Zoo" on the weekend of
May 22 and 23 at TrueNorth at French Creek Nature Center in Sheffield
Village, 4530 Colorado Avenue (Route 611), 2.7 miles north and west of the
I-90/Rte 611 interchange. The Saturday concert begins at 11:00 am, preceded
by the Petting Zoo at 10:00 am; the Sunday concert begins at 3:00 pm, with
the Petting Zoo at 2:00 pm. Tickets for the concert are $10 for adults and
$5 for children under 18. The Petting Zoo event does not require a concert
ticket. Tickets can be purchased online at

Tickets can also be purchased at the door.

The concert features Peter and the Wolf by Prokofiev, a work he wrote to
introduce children to the instruments of the orchestra. There will also be
a very special performance of the Vivaldi "Winter Concerto" with 14-year-old
Sarah Becker playing the solo violin. There will be other solo performances
to demonstrate individual instruments. I know your students will enjoy this
concert regardless of their present level of musical achievement.

I also want to issue a special invitation to you to assist at the Petting
Zoo and perhaps pick up additional private students as a result. We will
have a table for business cards and you will be welcome to interact with the
children trying out instruments. Members of the TrueNorth Symphony will
also be assisting. Instruments are being provided courtesy of Rettig Music
in Westlake. I will offer a complimentary concert ticket to any teacher who
participates in the Petting Zoo.

If you have any questions, please don't hesitate to give me a call or drop
me an email. This is our first attempt at a petting zoo, so any help or
advice you can give will be appreciated. If you send me your email (or
mailing) address, I can email (or mail) flyers to you to distribute to your
students.

to let me know you are coming.
