The Kent State University Museum, the 63rd Annual Italian-American Council
Festival, and the Akron Civic Theatre present "A Movie Date With Kate:
Summertime, starring Katharine Hepburn," accompanied by a short presentation
on the film, its Venetian setting and costuming, on Saturday, July 10, 2010,
at 3 p.m.  The classic film will be shown at the Civic Theatre, 182 South
Main St., Akron.  Ticket revenues will be shared by the three nonprofits. 

 

This collaborative project supports the upcoming Kent State University
Museum exhibition, "Katharine Hepburn: Dressed for Stage and Screen,"
opening October 2;  reinforces the Akron Civic as one of Northeast Ohio's
classic big-screen movie venues; and adds a film to Italian-American
Festival programming (July 9-11, Lock 3 Park adjacent to the Civic).
