[NEohioPAL] AUDITIONS: A new comedic play THIS SAT. called 'Personals Uncut'

Just a reminder that auditions for 'Personals Uncut' will be held at the Houde School of Acting. 1777 Coventry Road, Cleveland Heights, OH44118 this Saturday, June 26th from 11am-2pm.Please be prepared to read from the script.

Synopsis:Personals Uncut is an original play performed as a series of monologues that gives the audience a very uncensored glimpse into the world of online dating.A comedy with several touching moments, and a wide range of colorful characters gives the viewer a taste of ‘what’s out there’ with out having to type in a screen name.

Character breakdown:
Steven: 100% white bread, W.A.S.P., very clean cut, dashing and well dressed
Duane: average Joe, middle of the road, flannel shirt and work boots kind of guy, a “man’s man”
Kenny: the sex appeal of George Costanza and the social capabilities of a recluse
Jerry: cocky, a frat boy, undisputedly handsome
Marcus: black, well spoken, ridiculously arrogantPhil: a real life Mr. Cellophane, his neighbors don’t even know he exists, dresses like Mr. Rogers, 40’s, otherwise nondescript
Chaz: dirty, hipster, has tattoos, probably lives in Williamsburg
Mike: business type, impeccably dressed, charming smile, probably resides near Wall St.
Ted: 55-70+, grandfatherly, innocent, lonelyNoah: Jewish, a bit over the top, clown

Raine: earthy stoner, very laid back, Zen
Pam: 30’s, good shape, slightly jaded, possibly Latina
Randi: punk, groupie, young and hip, a walking poster ad for Hot Topic
Lynn: W.A.S.P., 40’s, blunt, very educated and opinionated, considering being a lesbianDeidre: aspiring artist, wacky, has severe A.D.D. and an affinity for illicit drugs
Maggie: young, naïve but doesn’t know it, has a fetishCarrie: HOT, blonde bombshell, egomaniac, Elle Woods meets Mean Girls
Jessica: fed up with online dating, sexually frustrated, girl next doorGwen: impatient, ambitious, over qualified, misunderstood
Irene: 60+, sweet, independent, girl next door forty years prior
Curi: Asian, FOB, sweetPerformances will be held at Kennedy’s in Playhouse Square on Saturday August 14th and 21st at 7 and 9pm for a total of four performances.
This is an unpaid project, but a great venue to gain exposure/experience.Each actor will receive a DVD of their performance.
Rehearsals will be held on a one-on-one basis with the director on Monday, Tuesday, Thursday, and Sunday evenings as well as Saturday afternoons 12-3.Each performer will have 3-4 rehearsals with the director before a full cast dress rehearsal.A schedule will be created that suits your availability.
