Fine Tuning Welcomes New Writer to Its Line Up

The July Fine Tuning program features creative work by four local writers, and will be held at the New York Deli and Grille on the South East corner of Wilson Mills Road and Water Street in Chardon on July 26th at 7 p.m.

The latest installment of Laurel Beth Gans' humorous novel, Pre-Dent, has its protagonist taking the DAT to determine whether she'll get into the dental school program. Chapter Three of the Joc-O-Sot playbook introduces the young Joc-O-Sot to the famed warrior Black Hawk, as the young boy celebrates his first successful hunt. The Amerindian piece will be preceded by a reading of Grace Butcher's Sestina for My Ancestors. The final piece in the program will be Episode One, A Priceless Reward, of a serial teleplay authored by Darlene Outler Coleman. This will be Coleman's first public reading with the Fine Tuning program.

The Fine Tuning format allows writers to hear their works read by actors before an audience, and to engage them in a lively discussion of their scripts. For local actors, who may not have the time to commit to a fully staged production, the program provides an opportunity to fine tune their talents on challenging new work. Live musical accompaniment is provided by Roxbury. The program is free and open to the general public, and is held in the party room of the New York Deli and Grille, where optional dinner fare, beverages, and desserts will be available from their full menu.
