You'll be delighted by this humorous story about the strength of friendship and a boy's journey towards discovering the strength of "doing the right thing."

Cinderella in the 70's? Rapunzel in the 60's? Come enjoy this zany comedy as Beck Center preteens give a new meaning to "once upon a time" when they set all your favorite fairy tales and fables in different decades. This retro comedy will be the bee's knees, groovy and totally tubular! From the author and director of last year's incredible and uproarious All Greek To Me.

YOUTH THEATER SHOW #3: MACKEY MAIN STAGE

Book by James Lapine<http://www.mtishows.com/show_detail.asp?showid=000106>

Sunday, February 27 & March 6, 2011 at 3:00 p.m.
Student Matinee: March 3, 2011 at 10:00 a.m.

When a Baker and his Wife learn they've been cursed with childlessness by the Witch next door, they embark on a quest for the special objects required to break the spell, swindling, lying to and stealing from Cinderella, Little Red, Rapunzel and Jack (the one who climbed the beanstalk). In James Lapine and Stephen Sondheim's Tony Award winning fracturing of fairytales, everyone's wish is granted but the consequences of their actions return to haunt them later, with disastrous results. What begins a lively irreverent fantasy in the style of "The Princess Bride" becomes a moving lesson about community responsibility and the stories we tell our children.

Auditions early December 2010
Auditions are open to all Beck Center students ages 13 - 18.

Based on the universally popular poetry of T.S. Eliot, Cats tells the story, in song and dance, of the annual gathering of Jellicle cats at which time one special cat is selected to ascend to the Heaviside layer. From the composer of The Phantom of the Opera, Evita and Jesus Christ Superstar, this landmark show is pure entertainment from start to finish. A true musical theatre phenomenon, Cats ran for a record-setting 21 years in London and just over 18 years on Broadway.

Auditions will be announced at start of Winter/Spring Semester 2011.
Auditions are open to all Beck Center students ages 6 - 18.
