Feast your ears on an Open Mic Spoken Word Poetry Slam followed by a
performance by award-winning writer and Poetry Slam Champion George Watsky
at Cain Park this Friday, July 30 at 7pm as part of the new $5 Friday
series.  
 
Yes, that means tickets are only $5 (both in advance and day of show)!
 
With the $5 admission charge, audience members are invited and encouraged to
get onstage and share their poetic works; sign up for the open mic on
Friday, July 30 at the Alma Theater beginning at 6:30pm.
 
This spectacular night will conclude with a performance by Youth Speaks
Grand Slam Poetry Champion George Watsky.  A San Francisco native and
Emerson University student, Watsky has been featured on HBO's Russell
Simmons Presents Def Poetry and has played such notable venues as Harlem's
legendary Apollo Theater, and The Kennedy Center in Washington, D.C.  He has
shared the stage with Beyonce Knowles, Stevie Wonder, Bonnie Raitt, Mos Def,
Blackalicious, Talib Kweli and Matisyahu, among others!
