Final 4 performances of The Scarlet Pimpernel - Wed. through Sat.
(August 18 - 21)

"Mercury Summerstock’s ‘THE SCARLET PIMPERNEL'... is an excellent
production of a very difficult show that should please most theatre-
goers. You won’t confuse this with the touring production of ‘PHANTOM
OF THE OPERA’ now at the Allen Theatre, but at one-fifth the cost per
ticket, “The Pimp” is well worth attending."

Lies! Torture! Betrayal!

Just your typical romantic comedy!

Mercury Summer Stock concludes its season’s offerings at the
Cleveland Play House with the international hit musical The Scarlet
Pimpernel. MSS Artistic Director Pierre-Jacques Brault promises a
unique and exciting rendition of this sweeping romantic adventure.
The show, playing August 6-21 in the Brooks Theatre, boasts a score
by Frank Wildhorn with lyrics and book by Nan Knighton, and is based
on the classic novel of the same name by Baroness Orczy. Set in
England and France during the Reign of Terror of the French
Revolution, The Scarlet Pimpernel is a brilliant precursor to the spy
fiction and the superhero genres, where the hero hides beneath a
‘foppish’ alias. Filled with a luscious score, heart-pounding action,
and side-splitting wit, The Scarlet Pimpernel takes the stage by
storm and is an evening of theatre not-to-be-missed!

Donning the mask of ‘The Pimpernel’ is Cleveland actor Brian
Marshall, whose area credits include Forbidden Broadway SVU at
PlayhouseSquare and My Fair Lady at The Cleveland Play House. MSS
favorites Shane O’Neill and Jennifer Myor as Chauvelin and Marguerite
create the dangerous love triangle that threatens to tear apart the
very world The Pimpernel and his men are trying to save. Also
featured among the cast of sixteen are regional actors Jonathan Ramos
(Armond), Kate Michalski (Marie) and Jeff Grover (The Prince). Don’t
miss the limited MSS run of this sweeping epic masterpiece. Ten
performances only!

Tickets for The Scarlet Pimpernel are available by calling the
Mercury Summer Stock box office at (216) 771-5862. Group discounts
