Hudson Players Open House and General Meeting this Sunday

Hudson's Community Theater to Hold Evening for Members and Interested
Volunteers Sept. 19th

The Hudson Players will hold an open house and general meeting at the Barlow
Community Center on Oviatt St in Hudson at 6 p.m. on Sunday, September 19,
2010. The meeting is a kick off to their 66th Season and the group promotes
it as a great way to learn more about volunteering and to be informed about
past success.

"We are an all volunteer group that is open to anyone that would like to be
involved," said Gary Maher, board member. "The great part about community
theater is that it's fun and there is something for everyone. We are always
looking for more folks to help on sets, painting, props, costumes, lights,
sound, publicity, poster distribution, fundraising and more. Many people
only think of theater as being onstage, but there is a whole lot that has to
happen before the curtain opens. Some things can be done from home at
someone's convenience, while others need to be done at the theater and get
you involved with a great group of fun people."

The open house will also serve as the groups annual business meeting where
results from the previous season will be reviewed and plans for the current
year will be discussed. Light refreshments will be provided. Additional
information and season ticket information can be found on the groups website
at www.hudsonplayers.com or by calling 330-655-8522.

Immediately following the meeting, the Hudson Players will hold auditions
for "Moon Over Buffalo" a comedy farce in the tradition of "Lend Me A
Tenor". These will be held both September 19 & 20 at 7 p.m. at the Barlow
Community Center. All roles are available with interested crew and
production team members (publicity, set, props, costumes, sound, lights,
etc) also being sought. Auditions are open to all with no restrictions.
Those auditioning will be asked to read from the script. More information is
available at www.hudsonplayers.com <http://www.hudsonplayers.com/> , by
emailing info at hudsonplayers.com or by calling 330-655-8522. Perusal scripts
are also available at the Hudson Library.

"Moon Over Buffalo", which starred Carol Burnett on Broadway, opens the long
running community theater troupe's 66th Season. With performances scheduled
for November 5, 6, 12, 13 19 & 20 the hilarious and popular comedy by Ken
Ludwig will be directed by Bob McCoy.

The Hudson Players are an all volunteer non-profit community theater
organization and one of the longest running theater troupes in the area.
Volunteers are always welcome to assist with a variety of tasks including
publicity, poster distribution, set building, costumes and more. Auditions
to their shows are open to all with no restrictions. Additional information
is available at www.hudsonplayers.com <http://www.hudsonplayers.com/> , by
emailing info at hudsonplayers.com or by calling 330-655-8522.
