Music and Dance of the Philippines to Fill LCCC's Stocker Arts Center

Explore the rich history and culture of the Philippines through an
exciting and entertaining performance by the Bayanihan Philippine
National Dance Co.

 

The dance company will perform at 7:30 p.m., Wednesday, November 3 at
Lorain County Community College's Stocker Arts Center.

 

The show is part of the Performing Artists Series. Tickets are $34 for
orchestra; $27 for mezzanine; and $10 for LCCC students and youth 18 and

from 12-6 p.m., Monday through Friday. Tickets are also available at the
box office, located in the lobby of the Stocker Arts Center.

 

The performers of the Bayanihan Philippine National Dance Co. are
considered national heroes in their country for their efforts in
promoting the heritage of the Filipino culture. The show includes live
music, cultural dress, and a series of dance selections inspired by the
many cultures of the Philippines.

 

The dance company debuted at the Brussels Universal Exposition in 1958
and was featured in a telecast on "The Ed Sullivan Show." Since then,
the group has earned many distinctions, including the first Filipino
group to perform on Broadway and receiving the Ramon Magsaysay Award for
international understanding.
