*Buon Giorno*!

As already posted to NEO PAL, tomorrow, *Saturday October 16*, is the first
(of what hopes to be many) *Commedia dell'Arte Festival* at the *Miller
South School of the Visual & Performing Arts* in Akron!

As part of the evening entertainment beginning at *6:00pm*, *The Confused
Greenies* <http://filer.case.edu/org/commedia/> will be staging an encore of
one of our greatest plays, a smash hit at Marcon 45
<http://www.marcon.org/>this past May, a sci-fi parody commedia about
commedia:

*Dottore Who & the Zealous
Ones<http://filer.case.edu/org/commedia/plays/2010-10-16_Dottore-Who.html>
by Elianna Bootzin, Megan Matthews, Jess Rudolph, and Also Jeff Thomas*

*Dottore Who, the bumbling wanderer of both time and space, has traveled to
1578 Florence Italy and meets i Gelosi, the greatest improvisational
commedia dell’arte troupe in all of history! And of course, whenever Dottore
Who meets someone famous in Earth’s past, there’s going to be an alien
invasion!*

We'll be joined on stage with special guest actors from *Thee Dyskworlde
Players*<http://www.facebook.com/pages/Thee-Dyskworlde-Players/100470686662378?ref=ts>of
Columbus and a very special cameo appearance by professional commedia
instructor and clown *Gale McNeeley* <http://www.galemcneeley.com/>. But
that's not all! Don't miss a performance by our hosts, the *Middle School
Commedia dell'Arte Troupe of Miller
South*<http://www.facebook.com/#%21/group.php?gid=151671807451&ref=ts>-
and you haven't seen pratfalls and slapstick until you've seen it from
youths whose bones must still be made or rubber!

And of course come earlier in the day for the workshops beginning at 2:00pm,
open to middle school through college students. The Confused Greenies will
be building stock commedia characters using the extreme stereotypes of
modern-day comic heroes; Wendy S. Duke, instructor at Miller South will be
mask making; and the aforementioned Gale McNeeley instructing traditional
acting techniques of Italian *Commedia dell''Arte*.

All the evening performances are only $5.00 and open to all members of the
public (tickets also available at the door). All three workshops for
students are also only $5.00. Or, if you attend the entire workshop and wish
a dinner, the entire day for only $15.00! The workshops and performances
will be held at the:

*Miller South School of the Visual & Performance Arts*
*1055 East Ave*
*Akron Ohio 44307*
*Workshops at 2:00pm*
*Performances at 6:00pm*

So please join us for a day of more zany traditional improvisational comedic
fun than you can shake a slapstick at!

Please contact contact *Wendy Duke* (wduke at akron.k12.oh.us / 330-687-4177),
instructor at Miller South, for tickets or any questions!

forever foolish,
--Jess
