The Cassidy Theatre will be holding auditions for its upcoming production of

*Hello Dolly!*

Book by Michael Stewart
Music and lyrics by Jerry Herman



Directed and choreographed by Pierre-Jacques Brault



Rehearsals will begin January 10th, and performances will be Fridays,
Saturdays and Sundays from February 4th through the 20th, 2011. Please have
all conflicts listed at time of auditions. Rehearsals will be Monday through
Thursday and Sunday afternoons for four weeks.



AUDITION DATE (Appointments are required):

Tuesday, December 7 at 7:00pm

Thursday, December 9 at 7:00pm



Please call 440.842.4600 to set up audition time slot. If you cannot make
the audition dates or times and would still like to be seen for the
production, the director is willing to meet at another time.



AUDITION PREPARATION:

Please prepare two short, contrasting musical theatre selections, bring
sheet music in the correct key, 32 bars is sufficient; an accompanist will
be provided. Headshots and resumes will be accepted at the audition.



CASTING REQUIREMENTS:

Non - Equity. There are no Equity Contracts available. Cassidy is committed
to non-traditional casting. Actors will be cast solely on the basis of
talent, except in cases where age, race or physical ability are essential to
a role. Ages listed in breakdowns are "character ages" not actor ages.



Seeking (All roles open):

*Mrs. Dolly Gallagher Levi* – An indefatigable matchmaker of strikingly
dramatic appearance; a widow. (Alto, 30-45 years, Lead)

*Horace Vandergelder* – Proprietor of a Hay and Feed Store in Yonkers, N.Y.
and a client of Mrs. Levi’s. A widower of some means. (Baritone, 30-60
years, Lead)

*Cornelius Hackl* – Vandergelder’s Chief Clerk and 33 years old (Baritone,
18-35, Lead)

*Mrs. Irene Molloy* – A millionairess with a Hat Shop near 14th Street IN
New York City. Mrs. Levi has introduced her to Mr. Vandergelder. (Mezzo
Soprano, 25-40 years, Lead)

*Barnaby Tucker* – An assistant to Cornelius. (Baritone, 18-30 years,
Supporting)

*Minnie Fay* – A young girl who works in Irene’s shop. (Mezzo Soprano, 18-30
years, Supporting)

*Ermengarde* – The 17 year old niece of Horace Vandergelder. (Spoken/Dancer,
16-25 years, Supporting)

*Ambrose Kemper* – A young artist seeking to marry Ermegarde. (Tenor/Dancer,
16-28 years, Supporting)

*Ernestina* – A frumpy looking girl in need of Mrs. Levi’s services.
(Spoken, 18-25 years, Supporting)


Seeking Strong Ensemble that will double and triple for many supporting
characters(Must sing and dance)
