The Menorah Park Center for Senior Living is looking for all kinds of talent!

On Thursday, January 27, Menorah Park will host its first ever Talent Showcase. Sign up for a 10-15 minute time slot to perform for all of the campus Activities Departments. There is no fee for you to participate in the Showcase.

Menorah Park is a large campus of Independent Living, Assisted Living, and Nursing Home facilities that provide live entertainment for its residents and clients on a regular, daily basis. There are four main buildings on campus, each with its own Activities or Life Enrichment Department, and many afternoon and evening opportunities to perform. Multiple and block bookings are a definite possibility.

We are looking for new, interesting and quality talent. This is a senior and (mostly) Jewish population who enjoys a variety of entertainment genres and styles. Music is always popular, from instrumental to vocal, Classical to Jazz to Standards to Broadway to Folk to Oldies Rock and Roll. Whether you sing with an accompanist, accompany yourself, or bring a Karaoke machine, have a combo or a band, we want to see you.

BUT – don’t limit yourself. If you’re a dancer, magician, comedian (clean), or storyteller, we want to see you. Are you an actor who does dramatic readings? Historical impersonations? A duo who does scene work, an improve troupe? We want to see you! How about a Poetry Slam? Mixed Media? Can you create an act from a combination of those skills, or something totally different that hasn’t been mentioned? Then, YES, we want to see you!

We are nondiscriminatory and will book youth performers, teens, adults, and seniors. All programs should run one hour. (All types of secular and cultural material and content are encouraged. However, since this is a Jewish facility, so no Christian music should be played.)

Menorah Park has a set fee schedule (non-negotiable). We pay $75.00 for one solo 1 hour performance. Accompanists, sidemen, band members, etc. will be compensated accordingly, as per gig specifics. Rates may be adjusted for special occasions (e.g. New Years, events longer that 1 hour, or specially funded programs).

The Talent Showcase will be Thursday, January 27, in the Menorah Park Auditorium. The first time slot will start at 1:00 P.M. and the last will begin at 4:45 P.M.  There will only be 12 - 14 slots, so sign up early!
