The Clague Playhouse Gallery presents Abstract Acrylic Paintings by Christopher
Weigand during the run of Last Train to Nibroc, from Friday, January 14 through
Sunday, February 6, 2011.

Chris has always had an interest in art. Growing up he'd constantly be drawing
animals, buildings, cars and anything else he could imagine. Now his artistic
interests focus on abstract acrylic paintings. He enjoys working with the
forgiving and fast drying medium of acrylic paint. His paintings are typically
painted on pre-stretched canvas while more and more of them are being painted on
environmentally sustainable hardboard. He likes to experiment with different
techniques and painting implements.

Subject matter ranges from purely geometric designs to nature scenes to
cityscapes. Very rarely do his paintings begin with a pre-conceived notion.
Rather he lays down layers of paint and ultimately follows his eye and the
direction the painting takes him. Colors range from a muted monochromatic
pallet to some that employ a variety of bright contrasting tones.

Chris was born and raised in the Cleveland area. He currently resides in
Sagamore Hills, Ohio with his artist wife Christine, their sons and one cat.
Together they run their small art business called Little Grey Cat Studio. 2010
and run through January 2011.

The lobby gallery is open during Box Office hours, Wednesday through Saturday
1:00-6:00 pm.

A free reception for patrons follows the Friday, January 14 performance where
there will be an opportunity to meet the gallery artist and the cast.

Clague Playhouse is located south of Detroit Road off the I-90W Clague Road
Exit. Free parking and handicapped accessible.
