"Hairspray the Broadway Musical" Plays At The Arts Center

January sees the return of our most talented local actors in the hit show
"Hairspray the Broadway Musical" being produced by G. B. Community Theatre
at the Ashtabula Arts Center.

Directed by Kim Godfrey, the show is set in the year is 1962 and
Baltimore's Tracy Turnblad is going to do whatever it takes to dance her way
onto TV's most popular show! Can a big girl with big dreams, and even bigger
hair, turn the whole town around and still have time to win the boy she
loves? This dancing, romancing musical-comedy treat is based on John Waters'
1988 film classic, with a book by Mark O'Donnell and two-time Tony
Award-winner Thomas Meehan and a brand-new score by five-time Oscar-nominee
Marc Shaiman and Scott Wittman.

The show will be performed Jan. 14, 15, 16, 21, 22, 23, 28 and 29th.
Fridays & Saturdays begin at 8 p.m. Sunday matinees begin at 2 p.m.

Tickets are patrons $14, adults $12, seniors/students $11. Or save $2 per
ticket when you purchase tickets in advance. Advance tickets must be
purchased prior to 4 p.m. on the day of the show and can be purchased by

Dinner will be available before the show on Jan. 22nd. Reservations and
prepayment are required no later than noon on the Wednesday, Jan. 19.
However, dinner seats often sell out before the deadline and tickets should
be purchased as early as possible. Dinner seating begins at 6:30 p.m. Cost
is $16 plus the price of your theater ticket.
