Get your tickets early for this winter's murder-mystery thriller from "Queen
of Crime," Agatha Christie. The Unexpected Guest will perform at Akron's
Coach House Theatre Jan. from 27-Feb. 20.
On a foggy night, Michael Starkwedder enters the home of the Warwicks
through a window in the study. He finds the dead body of Richard Warwick,
and finds Warwick's wife, Laura, holding a gun that supposedly killed him.
Despite the murder being obvious, and overwhelming evidence pointing towards
her guilt, Laura claims innocence, and the two decide to place the blame on
one of Richard's many enemies from the past.
The Unexpected Guest, directed by acclaimed local actor Andrew Cruse, will
be presented Jan. 27 to Feb. 20. Curtain times are Thursday, Friday and
Saturday at 8 p.m., with Sunday matinees at 2:30 p.m. Dinner or Brunch is
available to all theatre patrons prior to every performance at the Akron
Woman's City Club next door. There will be a special $12 preview performance
Thursday, Jan. 27 only, at 8 p.m. There will be two extra Saturday matinees
Feb. 5 and 19, at 2:30 p.m.
Christie's murder mysteries at Coach House have become a hugely popular
Akron tradition, and our four-week run will likely sell out quickly. So
reserve your seats now!
