“Have A Nice Day!” - A 70’s Musical Flashback Ready to Deliver Groovy
Time!

Musical About Having Fun Will Be Presented by Hudson Players February 4-26



The Hudson Players (the award winning Fox 8 Hotlist Akron-Canton Theater
Group of the Year for 2010) are preparing to continue their 66th season with
a musical about having fun! Running Friday, February 4th thru Saturday,
February 26th “Have A Nice Day!” is actually a performance by the
fictional singing group ‘HAVE A NICE DAY’ who are singing songs we know
and love from the 70′s to try and save the world from a bummer day. It’s
truly a musical piece of psychedelic bubblegum! Opening night audiences will
be invited out after the show to Zeppe’s Bistro for a reception with the
cast and crew.

Assembled by Rick Lewis, the same man who brought us “An Evening with the
Taffetas and Cardigans”, “Have A Nice Day!” is a not too subtle spoof of
“Up with People,” the show brings life to a lot of songs we thought we
forgot (originally performed by the likes of Cher, John Denver, The Brady
Bunch and The Cowsills)! HAVE A NICE DAY is working hard to help America
smile.

While not required, audience members are encouraged to join the cast and
crew in dressing like the 70’s to make this brief step back into the
celebrated era that much more fun.



“It really promises to be a great time for all involved - audience and cast
alike,” said Gary Maher, board member. “I mean where else can you go to
hear a show start with ‘Convoy’ and get more fun from there with songs
like ‘It Ain’t Easy Being Green’, ‘I Believe in Music’ and more. While
we know you’ll love the cast and the voices, you’ll truly enjoy the show
and are guaranteed to leave with a familiar song or two stuck in your
head.”




Performance dates are February 4, 5, 11, 12, 18, 19, 20*, 25 & 26. Tickets
are $14 and are available now via the web at www.HudsonPlayers.com or by
calling 330-655-8522. Curtain time is 8 p.m. except for the Sunday, February
20th performance, which is a special 2 p.m. matinee. Group, student and
senior discounts are available as well as the groups popular Dinner and a
Show Package with Hudson’s Restaurant on the Green.





Directed by Dave Stebbins, the cast includes: Tim Steiner, Kathy Steiner,
Tom Cirner, Jennifer Matas and Megan Snyder. In fact, four out of the five
members were in an “Up With People” type group together so there is a
familiarity with the material that is sure to add even further to the fun.




The Hudson Players are located right in the heart of Hudson, Ohio in the
Barlow Community Center and are one of the area’s longest running community
theaters currently celebrating their 65th Season. With a rich history of
great shows, community involvement and an ultra-friendly performing
environment the group embodies its slogan of “good shows, good friends, and
good times”. Up next will be “Drowsy Chaperone” a comedy with music fresh
from Broadway .
