LCCC's 32nd Annual Masterworks Concert presents the Majesty and Power of
Beethoven

Lorain County Community College's Civic Chorale, Collegiate Chorale and
Civic Orchestra will present the 32nd Annual Masterworks Concert at 7:30
p.m., Saturday, March 5 in LCCC's Stocker Arts Center Theatre. The
concert is directed by Nancy Davis, LCCC's Director of Choral Music
Performance.

Tickets are $7 for general admission; $6 for LCCC students, staff and
Buckeye cardholders; and $5 each for groups of 15 or more. Tickets may
be purchased online at www.lorainccc.edu/stocker, or by calling the
Stocker Arts Center box office at (440) 366-4040 from 12-6 p.m., Monday
through Friday. Tickets are also available at the box office, located in
the lobby of the Stocker Arts Center.

The concert will feature the famous choral movement, "Ode to Joy," from
Beethoven's "Symphony No. 9 in D Minor." Guest soloists include Janine
Porter, coloratura; Sandra Ross, mezzo-soprano; JR Fralick, tenor; and
Timothy LeFebvre, bass-baritone.

The Ninth Symphony, often called the Choral Symphony, is Beethoven's
final and most extensive work. It has two main themes: brotherhood of
mankind and love of God. With drama and musical genius, Beethoven
expresses his passion for freedom and hope of goodwill for all people.

The concert will also include Beethoven's "Hallelujah" from "Christ on
the Mount of Olives" and "Salvation is Created" by Russian composer,
Tschesnokoff.
