Big River: The Adventures of Huckleberry Finn (winner of 7 Tony Awards), combines Mark Twain's unflinching portrayal of the antebellum South and slavery with bluegrass and country music styles to bring the Southern setting alive and make Twain's critical look at racism even more poignant today.
Many wonderful roles available for actors and actresses of all age ranges and types - 14 men, 7 women, doubling as:
Huckleberry Finn, Widow Douglas, Miss Watson, Tom Sawyer, Jim, Dick, Ben Rogers, Simon, Pap Finn, Judge Thatcher, Strange Woman, Slaves, The King, The Duke, Hank, Andy, Young Fools, Mary Jane Wilkes, Susan Wilkes, Joanna Wilkes, Robinson, Alice, Silas Phelps, Alice's Daughter, Sherriff Bell, Harvey Wilkes, Sally Phelps, Doctor, River Rats
AUDITION DATES:
Monday, March 14 7:00pm - 10:00pm
Wednesday, March 16 7:00pm - 10:00pm
Sunday, March 20 1:00 - 4:00pm - Call-Backs
Auditions are by appointment only and will be scheduled in 1 hour increments, with 8-10 actors scheduled for each hour. To schedule an audition appointment, please call 440-949-5200.
AUDITION PREPARATION:
Please prepare a one minute contemporary comic monologue; 1 short up tempo musical selection (bring sheet music in the proper key-an accompanist will be provided); resume and head shot (or current photo), and be prepared to dance (dress to move). Please arrive early to fill out paperwork.
Equity agreements may be considered for this production.
Performances are Friday, Saturday and Sunday the first weekend, and include Thursdays the following two weekends (11 performances).
TrueNorth at French Creek is a beautiful state of the art performance center nestled in the heart of 400 acres of Lorain County Metro Parks woodland along the French Creek in Sheffield Village; 25 minutes west from downtown Cleveland, Rt. 611, off of I-90.
