New Kids on the Block: Bugs and Butterflies
June 13 - 17, Monday - Friday, 10:00 a.m. - 12:00 noon
Ages 3 to 6 (Students must be potty trained)

A summer session for 3 to 5 year olds. Students use their creativity to explore theater arts through games, storytelling and creative drama. 

Kids Take the Stage! Act One
June 13 - 24, Monday - Friday, 10:00 a.m. - 2:00 p.m.
Ages 5 to 9
Students divided by age for group work
Tuition $260

Kids Take the Stage! Summer Camps engage students in acting, improvisation, staging, auditioning and technical theater. Subjects covered include stage directions, movement for the stage, vocal production, emotional expression, developing awareness for technical theater and understanding theater as an art form. The class uses theater games to teach the fundamentals, and focuses on collaboratively creating a performance for the class day. 

Broadway Dance Camp, Act Two
June 20 - 24, Monday - Friday, 10:00 a.m. - 1:00 p.m.
Ages 9 to 14
Tuition $160

The Broadway Dance Camp is a summer session custom designed to meet the needs of beginning and intermediate students. Theater training in movement for the stage, dance steps and combinations, acting & audition techniques allows each student to advance at his or her own pace. Collaboratively, students create a performance for the final day of class. 

Theater Around the World
June 27 - July 1, 10:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m.
Ages 5 - 8
Tuition $160

Theater Around the World is designed to learn about and compare theater practices in modern American Theatre to its roots in Ancient Greek Theatre and other theater forms from around the world including; American, Greek, African, Middle Eastern, Japanese (Kabuki & Noh), India (Shadow Theatre) and Latin American theatre.

Students in Theater Around the World will build skills in theatrical performance and learn about the history and scope of theatre as an art form. The class will study stage directions, movement for the stage, projection and diction, and improvisation in several forms the theatre, from Japanese theatre like Kabuki and Noh to the Shadow Theatre of India. Students will also discuss practical aspects of theatre such as audience etiquette and elements of technical theatre. 

Musical Theater, Act One
June 27 - July 1, Monday - Friday, 10:00 a.m. - 1:00 p.m.
Ages 9 to 14
Tuition $180
Instructor: Sarah Bailey, M.M.

Students in Musical Theater, Act One will build skills in acting, music vocabulary, basic music notation, vocal dynamics, pitch matching and musical theater movement. The class will apply their skills through working on group musical numbers consisting of acting, singing and choreographed movement. Students will present their work on the last day of class.

Students in the Character Workshop will focus on the understanding of creating a character -- creating a physical life, voices, understanding given circumstances in the world of the play and understanding how your character is different from you. Students will discover many ways a character can behave, think, feel, experience things and express themselves differently than the actor. Students will have the opportunity to apply these skills through scene work, which will be presented on the final day of class.

Summer Stock is a theater performance lab. Students in this intense theater-training program will form their own production company under the supervision of a director and technical director. The class will fully produce and present a full-length production in two weeks. Summer Stock culminates in two public performances of the play. 

Singing Technique
August 1 - 5, Monday - Friday, 10:00 a.m. - 12 noon
Ages 7 to 16
Students divided by age for group work

Please bring bottled water and a snack!

Studies proper singing technique and is a suitable for beginners to intermediate singers. Specific skills include: Proper breathing and support, singer's posture, warm-up techniques and exercises, introduction to sight reading and music notation, ear training, resonance and diction.
