AUDITIONS will be held for actors for  
Dobama Theatre's 33rd Marilyn Bianchi Kids' Playwriting Festival!
 
WHEN: 
Sunday, May 1
5:30 p.m. to 6:30 for Children 12 and under
6:30 to 8:00 p.m. for teens and adults
 
Monday, May 2
7:00 p.m. – 8:00 children under 12
8:00-9:00 teens and adults
Appointments are not necessary

WHAT IS THE FESTIVAL?  
The festival began over 30 years ago in honor of Marilyn Bianchi and her 
devotion to inspiring creativity in young people.  It is the oldest of its kind 
in the country.  Approximately 10-12 plays will be produced as part of the 
festival.  The plays are winners of a playwriting competition for students in 
grades 1 through 12.  

Winners of the teen plays will be produced as part of the Night Kitchen. Many 
directors, actors, and tech people work together to create a special celebration 
of the talented writers from schools in Cuyahoga County!
 
WHAT ARE WE LOOKING FOR?
There will be roles for all ages and all types.  You may request to be cast in 
only one play or you may be cast in several.  You can audition for just the 
Night Kitchen or you can audition for the main plays and the night kitchen 
plays. 
 
WHO IS DIRECTING?
Each play will have a different director. Some of the directors are Bernadette 
Clemens, Joyce Casey, Dana Hart, Greg Cesear, Lynna Metrisin, Julia Kolibab, Dan 
Kilbane.
 
WHAT TO BRING:
Your photo/resume if you have one and a list of your conflicts!
 
WHAT TO PREPARE:
No preparation is necessary, you will be reading from the scripts.
 
WHEN IS THE FESTIVAL?
The festival dates are June 9th - 12th.  Evening performances of the main plays 
will be at 7:00 on thurs, fri and sat, and there will be matinees at 2:00 on sat 
and sun.  The Night Kitchen plays will perform on fri and sat at 9:30 p.m. and 
on sat and sun at 4:30 p.m.
 
WHEN ARE REHEARSALS:
Rehearsals will be arranged with each director and their cast, and will be held 
at Dobama Theatre or in the Cleveland Heights Library.
