For more than 60 years, the swingle singers have been amazing audiences
around the globe with their astounding a cappella. The group recently
took their fame to the small screen by voicing the end credits in the
popular television show "Glee."

Don't miss your opportunity to see these world renowned singers close to
home at 7:30 p.m., Monday, May 16 at Lorain County Community College's
Stocker Arts Center.

 

The show is part of the Stocker's Performing Artists Series. Tickets are
$34 for orchestra; $27 for mezzanine; and $10 for students and youth 18
and under. Valet parking is available for this show for just $5 per car.

Since the release of their ground-breaking debut album in 1963, this
amazing eight-voice a cappella group (complete with their own vocal
rhythm section) have become an international phenomenon and have
performed on the world's most famous stages, sustaining over four
decades a level of international popularity beyond the wildest dreams of
founder, American-born Ward Swingle. 

 

The members of the group have changed over the years, but maintain the
unmistakable sound of "swingle singing": virtuosic vocal agility and
blend demonstrated by their signature close-microphone technique,
combined with high-level entertainment. The current Swingles are a
London-based group of eight whose repertoire encompasses classical,
jazz, Latin, pop and rock - all accompanied by their own vocal rhythm
section, created by just their voices.

 

The swingle singers have performed all across the United States, the
United Kingdom, Asia, and virtually every country in Europe, have
released more than 50 recordings, and have won five Grammy Awards. Don't
