Celebration of New Work at Cleveland Play House

Local Explosion

New this FusionFest, Local Explosion invites local artists to collaborate on
premiere FusionFest works.
Local Explosion includes 3 different pieces:

*Genius Child*
by JR Fralick (singer) and Megan Pitcher (choreographer)
original music by Ricky Ian Gordon
text by Langston Hughes

Fusing: piano, vocals, dance, and poetry.
A young woman's questioning and exploration of her future.

*Men In Hats*
by Lisa K. Lock (choreographer) and Ron E. Shelton (hat designer)

Fusing: fashion, hat design, dance, vocals, music.
A whimsical fashion show exploring masculinity.

*Somewhere*
by Bellamy Printz (visual artist) and Eric Schmiedl (playwright)

Fusing: visual arts, printmaking, vocals.
A PowerPoint presentation for an important client goes horribly wrong but
wonderfully right.

*Saturday, 4/23 at 1:30 p.m. and 3:30 p.m.*

This Saturday is the final day of FusionFest 2011, and we have a full day of
activity coming your way!  In addition to the 7 performances happening on
stage, our lobby will be buzzing with a variety of free activities from 1
p.m. - 8 p.m., inspired by this year's FusionFest line-up.  Make sure to

*Hats!*  - One of our Local

titled “Men in Hats” features the designs of milliner Ron Shelton.
Channel your inner model by posing for a photo in one of Shelton's
creations.  More of his hats and those of his colleagues will be on display
