May is musical and thought-provoking at CVLT...

While our main stage takes a break between the end of the successful
/Dirty Rotten Scoundrels/ and the opening of /Don't Dress for Dinner/ in
June, our River Street Playhouse and special events take the focus.

Beginning on April 29, Robert Hawkes will present Glen Berger's
one-man-show *Underneath The Lintel*
<http://cvlt.org/81stSeason/lintel.php> on our River Street Playhouse
stage. This is Mr. Hawkes' first appearance on the River Street stage in
twenty years, (he has appeared recently at Clague Playhouse, the Ohio
Shakespeare Festival, the Beck Center, Ensemble Theatre, the Cleveland
Shakespeare Festival, the Chagrin Falls Performing Arts Academy, and
Cleveland Public Theatre) and is not to be missed. Also, the initial
round of our popular /*Hear Who's Here*
<http://cvlt.org/81stSeason/hwh-lax.php>/ speaker series will wrap up on
May 4 with the already SOLD OUT talk with illustrator ('Flo & Friends')
Jenny Campbell.

The CVLT Women's Committee's sponsored performance of Mary Faktor's
acclaimed one-woman show, /*The Six Ages of Woman*
<http://www.cvlt.org/81stSeason/sixagesofwoman.php>/ will wrap the month
up with a special one-night performance featuring a cash bar and hors
d'ouevres.

The Summer sessions for CVLT's *Youth Theatre
<http://www.cvlt.org/youth>* are filling up. The first session runs June
13 - June 25, and the second runs July 11 - July 31. See
http://www.cvlt.org/youth for complete details and registration forms.

Keep an eye on CVLT.org <http://www.cvlt.org>, our Facebook
<http://facebook.com/ChagrinTheatre> page, or our Twitter
<http://twitter.com/ChagrinTheatre> feed for more info on this
performance and other breaking news.

One morning in 1986, a Dutch librarian discovers in the return slot a
book checked out in 1873 and only just returned. His sense of library
decorum outraged, the librarian determines to find the party
responsible, and to collect the appropriate fine. His quest takes him
not only all over the physical world, but on a journey of remarkable
spiritual discovery. A tale of seemingly petty bureaucratic procedure
becomes the stuff of profound revelation about our relationship to
responsibility, fate, humanity, and God. Full of both pathos and humor,
Glen Berger's play both entertains and illuminates.

/Underneath the Lintel/ ran for over 450 performances Off-Broadway. It
won a 2001 Ovation Award (Los Angeles), the 2003 Sterling Award
(Edmonton) for Best Play, and was selected as one of Time Out New York's
Ten Best Plays of 2001. CVLT's presentation joins a long list of
productions in over 55 cities in 8 countries.

CVLT's /Hear Who's Here/ initial three-part series of local speakers

creative process of producing the cartoon and public reactions to it.
Audience goers will enjoy watching her draw right in front of them, as
her presentation will be accompanied by paper and easel.

Ms. Campbell will be selling greeting cards, signed prints of her
cartoon strips and other art. Her children's books will also be
available for sale, including books from the three books she created
with author Sandra J. Philipson.

The CVLT Women's Committee <http://www.cvlt.org/volunteering.php> is
pleased to present this special one-night-only performance by celebrated
actor and motivational speaker Mary Faktor. Mary will perform her
smash-hit, one-woman show /The Six Ages of Woman,/ which chronicles the
life of "Vicki" through hilarious phone conversations with her best
friend "Madge." Originally written in the 1980s, the show has been
continually updated to keep up with the times.

Although you never see Vicki's husband, children or best friend, by the
end of the hour-and-fifteen-minute show, you'll know them all quite
intimately. Watch time pass before your eyes as Vicki changes from
starry-eyed teenager discovering love, to newly wed bride full of
romantic dreams, to expectant mother anticipating the joys of
parenthood, to frenzied housewife with over-active toddlers, to
menopausal woman reentering the workforce, to grandmother beginning her
retirement years. You will likely see a part of yourself during some
phase of Vicki's metamorphosis, and you will laugh at yourself while
doing so.

Featured on TV8 and Channel 3's "Today in Cleveland," /The Six Ages of
Woman/ has delighted audiences of 20 to 2,000 in theatres, party
centers, corporate banquets, cruiselines, churches, and comedy clubs
nationwide.

And don't let the title fool you! /The Six Ages of Woman/ is also
immensely popular with male audience members. The universal humor of
love, marriage, kids, and work appeals to men and women alike.
Underlining the comedy is a message of positive growth that benefits all
who see the show.

*/AUDITIONS <http://www.cvlt.org/auditions.php>: Men needed for The
    Rocky Horror Show/*

    * CVLT is seeking additional young men to play Phantoms in Richard
O'Brien's original musical /The Rocky Horror Show/. We have
already cast seven women and two men as Phantoms, and are looking
for at least three additional men of similarly high caliber.
    * *An audition date is planned for MAY 15th at 1:30 PM*
    * The Phantoms are the hardest working ensemble in show business!
They appear in every musical number in the show, interact with the
audience often and may have some speaking lines.
    * While the show contains no nudity, The Phantoms may appear in
fishnets or other unusual costuming, so you must be comfortable
with your body enough to appear in this attire.
    * Auditionees must be able to sing well and move well!
    * All auditionees must be 18 years old or have parental permission.
    * If you are interested/available, please send a description of your
previous performing experience and a photograph to the director,
Greta Rothman at rothmang at wra.net or call 440.476.0642.
