Announcing Auditions for

Children of Eden

A concert staging of the epic musical by Stephen Schwartz and John Caird

Auditions: Sunday, June 5th & Monday, June 6th at 7PM

Location:

First Grace United Church of Christ

350 S. Portage Path

Akron, OH

*Casting Requirements*: No Appointment Necessary to audition!  Simply arrive
at 7PM.  Cast includes 10 principal ‘storytellers’ , a children’s ensemble
who sing, dance, act and paint, and a community chorus comprised of adults.
The role of ‘Father’ has already been cast. All other roles are open.

NOTE:  no audition is required to participate in the community chorus.  Chorus
rehearsals will be held on Saturdays from 1-3PM beginning June 18th.  Simply
show up and bring your neighbors!!

*Preparation*:  Auditioners of all ages and backgrounds should prepare one
song of any type which shows vocal range and personality.  Accompanist
provided.  Bring music in the correct key.  A capella auditions are
possible, but not encouraged.  Please come dressed to move. Children of Eden
will be staged ‘concert style’, with an emphasis on the music and visual
arts.

*Rehearsals and Performances*:  Performance dates will be August 12, 13,
19th and 20st in the evenings, with a Sunday matinee on August  21st.
Rehearsals
will be held throughout the summer, with increasing frequency closer to
performance dates.

*About the Program*: We are doing this piece as a benefit for *Project RISE*,
a program of the Akron Public Schools which serves the needs of homeless
youth and families.  Participation in this show is a volunteer opportunity.
