Porthouse Theatre Academy
High School Division
June 21- July 10, 2011
The Porthouse High School Academy is a musical theatre summer intensive program for high school students entering their sophomore, junior or senior years interested in advanced study and preparing for university auditions. Students will participate in three classes each day in 1) Musical Theatre Dance either beginning or intermediate level, 2) Voice and Ensemble Singing and 3) Acting and Monologue Preparation. All students will participate in a cabaret?style performance, created from the songs, monologues and dance from academy classes. The showcase will be performed for
Porthouse audiences as a part of the opening weekend for the second show of the season.

The program is ideal for:
? Students looking for an intensive summer learning experience in Musical Theatre, particularly those
interested in learning more about theatre as a profession
? Students who are planning to audition for Musical Theatre programs on the University level and are seeking training to set them apart from other high school students
? Students who would like to audition for the Kent State BFA Musical Theatre Program in the future
