There are still a few open spots left in our Teen Improv Camp and the first session of our Junior Theater Camp - both of which start this Monday, June 13.  Every participant is guaranteed performance time at the culmination of each camp.  If you can't come this Monday, make sure to check out our other camps running throughout the summer.

Also, our Early Childhood classes (ages 3 to 7) start next week as well.  Don't miss out on the opportunity to nourish your child's inner actor.  The classes make a great addition to your summer schedule.

THEATER CAMPS

Junior Theater Camp (Ages 7 to 12)
Music, Mayhem and More!
Sign-up for one session only, class sizes will be limited.

Session I: 6/13 - 7/1; Monday through Friday; 12:30 to 2:30 pm; 3 weeks; Tuition: $235 (split payment available); Location: Main Building; Performances on 7/1 at 2:30 and 6:30 pm

Session II: 7/25 - 8/12; Monday through Friday; 9:30 to 11:30 am; 3 weeks; Tuition: $235 (split payment available); Location: Main Building; Performances on 8/12 at 11:30 am and 6:30 pm

The Junior Theater Camp is designed for all students, whether or not they have prior performance experience. Campers will work with theater professionals learning techniques in acting, singing, and dancing as they rehearse for their original show: Music, Mayhem and More!  This fun performance will be the culmination of their work and will feature acting scenes and musical numbers. Actors will perform the show for family and friends on the last day of camp on the stage in the Beck Center Music-Armory Building. Tickets to the performances are $5 each. Information concerning performances will be distributed on the first day of camp. Students are required to participate in both performances.

Improv Camp (Ages 13 to 19)
Beck Improv Showcase
6/13 - 6/24; Monday through Friday; 5:30 to 8:30 pm; 2 weeks; Tuition: $175; Location: Main Building or Music-Armory Building; Performances on 6/24 & 6/25 at 7:30 pm

Headed by Founding Cast Member of Something Dada, Russ Stich, this camp is great for both new students of Improv as well as those veteran performers! Students will explore the basic concepts of improvisational theater with an emphasis on the theatrical and audience-interactive aspects. This two week workshop will be highly focused on creating a completely improvised performance based on suggestions from a live audience. It's a guaranteed comedy blast! Tickets to the performances are $5 each.

Acting Camp (Ages 13 to 19)
A History of Comedy
7/5 - 7/22; Monday through Friday; 12:00 to 4:00 pm; 3 weeks; Tuition: $335 (split payment available); Location: Main Building or Music-Armory Building; Performances on 7/22 & 7/23 at 7:30 pm

This intensive theater camp, headed by Russ Stich, is for students who are dedicated to developing their performance skills with experienced professionals. Students will discover the evolution of comedy as they explore and perform many of its incarnations from Slapstick and Pantomime, to Vaudeville Routines, Radio, Stand-up, Sketch and beyond. A final showcase performance will combine original material with classics such as Who's on First?, The 3 Stooges and Monty Python routines. Students are encouraged to bring script suggestions for the first day. Come join us and laugh as you learn! Tickets to the performances are $5 each.

Musical Theater Camp (Ages 13 to 19)
The Best of Broadway
7/25 - 8/12; Monday through Friday; 12:00 to 4:00 pm; 3 weeks; Tuition: $335* (split payment available); Location: Main Building; Performances on 8/12 & 8/13 at 7:30 pm

This musical theater camp is for students who are serious and passionate about performing in musical theater. Participants will work with a director, musical director and choreographer as a dedicated team to pull together an original musical revue: The Best of Broadway. Songs and material are picked specifically for the students involved creating a wholly unique experience. If you love musicals, you'll love this camp. Tickets to the performances are $5 each.

Audition Date: 7/21, 3:00 to 5:00 pm  Participants are encouraged to do a preliminary audition so that we may determine appropriate material for the performance. Sign up slots will be available upon registration.  Students are asked to prepare a short musical theater song that they feel best shows off their abilities.


EARLY CHILDHOOD CLASSES

Acting Adventures! (Ages 3 to 6)
Instructor: Erin Fodor
This course is designed to introduce children to theater through improvised imagination adventures! Students will work on projecting their voices, listening for directions, stage presence and working together - all while stretching their imaginations.  Each week students will go on an adventure to a different far away land - making each class session unique.  Parents are welcome to attend the final class to see one of these amazing adventures in progress. Note: This class meets twice a week
Tuesday & Thursday; 9:00 to 9:45 am; 5 Weeks; 6/14 - 7/14; Open House: 7/14; Tuition: $125; Location: Main Building.

Kids-N-Theater (Ages 3 to 5)
Instructor: Erin Fodor

Students will learn basic theater skills (singing, movement, acting) in a lively, creative, positive classroom experience.  Parent/caregiver participates during every session, which provides an opportunity for everyone to share in the theatrical experience. All children must be registered for the class to participate. A great class to enjoy more than once! Available in either the morning or the evening.

Monday; 10:00 to 10:45 am or 6:30 to 7:15 pm; 7 weeks; 6/13 - 8/1 (no class 7/4); Tuition: $88, each additional child: $45; no charge for parent/caregiver, but must register.  Child(ren) must be accompanied by a parent/caregiver to all sessions.


Little Folks Theater (Ages 4 to 7)
Instructor: Erin Fodor
Tuesday and Thursday; select from times listed below by age group; 5 weeks; 6/14 - 7/14; Open House: 7/14; Tuition: $125; Location: Main Building.
Ages 4 to 5                   10:00 to 10:45 am
Ages 6 to 7                   11:30 to 12:15 pm
Ages 4 to 6                   6:30 to 7:15 pm
This camp is designed for our youngest performers and is a wonderful introduction to the magical world of theater.  Student will learn basic theater skills in a lively, creative, positive classroom.  Young actors will perform in a small presentation for family and friends on the last day of camp.  A great class to enjoy more than once! Available in either the morning or the evening. Note: This class meets twice a week
