Chagrin Valley Little Theatre kicks off its 82nd Season!

What an incredible summer it was, with two remarkably successfull
productions! At our River Street Playhouse, CVLT treasures Don Edelman
and Frank Mularo played to capacity audiences in Neil Simon's /THE
SUNSHINE BOYS/, sponsored by First Federal Lakewood. On our main stage,
Richard O'Brien's /THE ROCKY HORROR SHOW/ sold out repeatedly, garnered
highly enthusiastic reviews from all the local papers, and became one of
our most talked-about productions in years. Thanks to all of you for
helping us wrap up our 81st in style!

Our *82nd Season <http://www.cvlt.org/82ndSeason>* begins this month
with the annual *MURDER BY THE FALLS
<http://cvlt.org/82ndSeason/murderbythefalls.php>* event, this year
spoofing the "Spider-Man" musical on Broadway with TV's Jan Jones in the
lead as a ruthless director, and cameos from Mayors Tom Brick and Matt
Brett, as well as Police Chief Brosius and Sherrif Dan McLelland!
Tickets are already going fast, so call and reserve yours now. Plus, The
Chagrin Falls Studio Orchestra is back again for another annual special
event, with *SPOTLIGHT ON BROADWAY
<http://cvlt.org/82ndSeason/broadway.php>* featuring showtunes new and
old for the whole family. See the list further down this email for all
of the shows you can now buy tickets to.

You have just a few more weeks to get your *SEASON SUBSCRIPTION*
<https://www.ticketturtle.com/index.php?subscription=cvlt> as well, so
if you want to reserve your seat and save money, do it before /The 39
Steps/ closes on October 22! We also expect to lay down Phase VI of our
*Brick Pavers* <http://www.cvlt.org/bricks> in early October, so get
your last-minute brick orders in before October 1.

Actors of all ages are needed! /SCROOGE/ auditions are coming up soon -
see *http://www.cvlt.org/auditions.php* for details - and our Youth
Theatre <http://www.CVLT.org/youth> is starting its new session shortly.

This is going to be an exciting new season for us. Our first Capital
Campaign is finally beginning to roll, and you can expect to hear more
news about it very soon. Check out the details on this month's offerings
below, and keep an eye on CVLT.org <http://www.cvlt.org>, our Facebook

Murder by the Falls kicks off each new season at CVLT with an original
audience-participation comedy/mystery. Money raised from this highly
popular event goes to the general operating expenses of the theatre.

People (Detectives) will be grouped 8 per squad. You may chose your
fellow Detectives or the Chief (CVLT) will assign your partners for you.
You and your team will compete for prizes, searching the Village for
clues, and helping our intrepid detectives to solve the crime! Space is
limited and tickets always sell fast! Get yours today!

  * 7:00 - Hors d'oeuvres and beer/wine cash bar at the Theatre
  * 8:00 - Act I, in which the mystery is revealed.
  * 8:45 - Your team search for clues in the windows of stores in the
Village and interviews characters on the street.
  * 9:15 - Return to 'Headquarters' for catered dessert as your team
decides on a solution to the mystery
  * 10:00 -- Act II -- The criminal is uncovered and prizes are awarded
to the team who was closest to the answer!

This year, you and your fellow detectives will be asked to help solve
"*DEAD AGAIN... AND AGAIN!*", the tale of an ambitious New York director
(played by Cleveland TV's own Jan Jones) who attempts to bring her
overwrought disaster of a superhero musical to CVLT's stage. Having
inspired the rage of just about everyone at the theater, it's no
surprise that she is murdered... repeatedly! A funloving jab at the
'Spider-Man' fiasco on Broadway, this goofy mystery will have you
laughing all the way to dessert!

Director: Don Edelman
Musical Director / Conductor: Stephen A. Eva
Choreographer: Ida Porris
Music Arranger: Bill Corcoran

Steve Eva and Don Edelman team up for the fourth year running to bring
you a special one-weekend-only concert musical event, featuring the
35-piece *Chagrin Falls Studio Orchestra *on stage.

Under the direction of Don Edelman, some of the area's finest performers
of all ages --- Rob Albrecht, Gene Karlen, Rebecca Marks, Patrick
Mazzarino, Libby Merriman, Sharon Lloyd and Ryann Angelotti, Talia
Cosentino, Ashleigh Nagy, Molly Cohen, Daniel Sovich, Zach Marks and
Maddie Marks --- will sing popular songs from Broadway musicals like
/The Phantom of the Opera/, /Les Miserables/, /My Fair Lady/ and newer
fare like /Beauty & The Beast/ and /Mary Poppins/.

Stephen Eva, musical director and conductor, will lead the full Studio
Orchestra as they perform complete orchestrations---with many original
arrangements by Bill Corcoran---from the stage. "It is unusual for
smaller venues to be able to support full orchestras, and often the
breadth of the music is sacrificed due to space constraints." says Mr.
Eva. "Our show is unique in community theater as it allows the audience
to fully appreciate the depth and brilliance of the arrangements."
