*Auditions The Lion The Witch and The Wardrobe*


*When:* September 21 & 22 from 6:30-9 pm

*Callbacks:* September 24 at 12:00 pm, by invitation only

*Where:* Geauga Lyric Arts Center (106 Water St
Chardon, Ohio)

*Audition Requirements: *Please prepare a 1-2 minute monologue for
auditions. The monologue must be done in your best British accent, although
the monologue itself does not have to be from an English show.

If interested in singing in the pre-show choir or as one of the scene
transitioners, please also come prepared with a 1-2 minute a capella song,
preferably a Christmas carol and in the style of the 1930's/40's.

*Cast: *

   - *Singers*: Seeking 2-3 mature singers to transition various scenes with
   period Christmas songs. Will rely on these voices to set the mood of each
   scene. Singers may be on or offstage and may also be asked to appear onstage
   as a follower of Aslan or the White Witch; age is negotiable.
   - *Choir*: Seeking a pre-show choir to sing period Christmas songs before
   the show and at intermission; all ages.
   - *Aslan*: The Lion King of Narnia; noble, kind, brave; represents
   Christ; age is negotiable
   - *White Witch*: Also known as Jadis, Queen of Narnia; malicious,
   conniving; represents evil; age negotiable
   - *Lucy Pevensie:* The youngest of the Pevensies; curious, optimistic;
   later becomes known as Queen Lucy the Valiant; age: 7-11
   - *Edmund Pevensie:* The second youngest of the Pevensie; bratty,
   skeptical, greedy at first, then makes the transition to noble and brave;
   becomes known as King Edmund the Just; age: 8-12
   - *Susan Pevensie:*The second oldest of the Pevensies; pretty, sensitive,
   kind; becomes known as Queen Susan the Gentle; age: 14-18
   - *Peter Pevensie: *The oldest of the Pevensies; brave, noble, protective
   of his siblings; becomes known as King Peter the Magnificent; age: 15-19
   - *Mr. Tumnus:* A faun; sensitive if not a bit a skittish; befriends
   Lucy; age is negotiable
   - *Mr. Beaver:* Comedic, good natured; age: 40 or older
   - *Mrs. Beaver:* Comedic, good natured; age: 30 or older
   - *Fenris Ulf: *A wolf; captain of the Witch's Secret Police; age is
   negotiable
   - *Dwarf: *The White Witch's evil henchman; age: 10-20
   - *Professor Kirke & Father Christmas: *An eccentric professor in the
   "normal world," Father Christmas in Narnia; two separate parts; age: 40 or
   older
   - *Elf:* Father Christmas' elf; age: 5-12
   - *Unicorn:* Creature of Narnia; age is Negotiable
   - *Centaur:* Creature of Narnia; Age is negotiable
   - *Followers of Asland:* Animals, dryads; all ages
   - *Followers of the White Witch:* Goblins, ghouls, specters; all ages


*No appointment necessary. *

*Rehearsal Information:* There will be a read-through on October 7, and
rehearsals will start officially October 24. The 4 Pevensie children may be
asked to come in prior to the 24th. Costumes will be stylized. The animals
of Narnia will be dressed in Victorian clothing with headpieces representing
their animals. The 4 children are WWII evacuees as they are in the book.

*Performances:* December 1, 2, 9, 10, 16, 17 at 8:00 pm, December 3, 11, 18
at 2:00 pm
