An opportunity exists to join the staff of Cleveland Play House, a landmark regional theatre in the midst of a multi-million-dollar capital campaign and a move to a new multi-venue home at PlayhouseSquare. 

CORE RESPONSIBILITIES

• Research potential sources of corporate and sponsorship support at both a regional and national level.
• Provide in-depth profiles on all prospect companies.
• Qualify and prioritize companies by gift potential and likelihood of giving.

• Identify appropriate production and program sponsorship and support opportunities.
• In coordination with Marketing, determine recognition and promotional opportunities for corporate donors/sponsors via marketing materials, on-site means and media advertising and recognition. 

• Manage a portfolio of corporate prospects through the identification, qualification, cultivation, solicitation and stewardship process.
• Develop sponsorship and program support materials.
• Work closely with the department director and relevant board committees to determine strategies and approaches for corporate prospects.
• Support leadership staff and volunteers throughout the cultivation and solicitation process.
• Coordinate approaches to corporate foundations intra-departmentally.

• Manage fulfillment of all donor and sponsor benefits.
• Monitor gift processing and prepare acknowledgement letters.
• Oversee invoicing and collection process for corporate revenue.
• Develop and coordinate ongoing stewardship activities for all corporate supporters.


CORE REQUIRED SKILLS, ATTRIBUTES, AND KNOWLEDGE

• A thorough knowledge of regional and national corporations and corporate giving trends.
• A minimum of three years' experience with corporate sponsorship and gift solicitation, preferably with organizations with annual budgets of at least $4 million. 
• Proven success in securing corporate support.
• Demonstrated fundraising, management and leadership skills.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Ease/ability to speak before groups of varying sizes and compositions.
• Excellent planning and organizational skills.
• Ability to multi-task, prioritize and work well under pressure.
• Self-initiator and also a good team-player.
• Proficiency with Word, Excel and fundraising databases. 
• A background in the arts or in arts organizations is preferred.

The position reports to the Director of Annual & Campaign Development in an eight-person department.
