Head Up Productions Announces Auditions

for 1,000 Hills by India Burton

As part of Cleveland Public Theatre’s Big [Box] Series

(Wednesday, October 19…For Immediate Release) Cleveland Public  
Theatre’s Big [Box] series is hosting Heads Up Productions’ “gripping”  
1,000 Hills.  1,000 Hills follows three tourists who find themselves  
in Rwanda just as genocidal violence breaks out.  As tensions mount,  
the tourists have their emotions and morals put to the test.  With  
genocide as a backdrop, the show asks the question:  What are our  
responsibilities to each other in a time of crisis?

Auditions for the play will take place in the Balch Street Theatre  
(home of CATAC and New World Performance Laboratory) located at 220 S.  
Balch St. in Akron.  The auditions will be held on Wednesday, November  
2 beginning promptly at 8 pm.  Come prepared with an open mind and  
ready to move.  If you’re planning to attend the auditions email info at headsupproductions.net 
  with your name, resume and a favorite photo of yourself. No other  
preparation is necessary.  Actors of ALL ethnicities are encouraged to  
audition.  If you would like to be considered for a role, but are  
unable to attend please email at the above address to set up an  
individual meeting.  The company is also seeking a stage manager who  
can play the djembe.

Performances will be held January 19-21 in Cleveland Public Theatre’s  
Levin Theatre.  However, all actors are working through Heads Up, not  
CPT.

Benjamin Rexroad, Heads Up Productions’ Managing Artistic Director, is  
directing the production.  Benjamin trained with Anne Bogart and the  
SITI Company during their 2010 summer intensive and won the 2011 Akron  
Arts Alive Award in the Rising Young Star/Leadership category.

The centerpiece of CPT's season, Big Box provides local artists with  
the opportunity to create and produce new work. Over seven weeks, Big  
Box includes eleven world premiere workshop showings of theatre,  
dance, music and genre-defying performances.

Heads Up Productions is a theatre company based out of Akron, Ohio.
