"Early One Evening at the Rainbow Bar & Grille", opens the long running
community theater troupe's 67th Season. Funny, irreverent and at the same
time thought provoking, the show is based on the question: "you have only
one day left on earth, what would you do?" Forget mass hysteria and anarchy
in the streets, if your name is Shep and you tend bar in western
Pennsylvania, its one last day of business and some rather odd decisions
along with the occasional visit from interesting friends (such as a gas pump
jockey who is winning deeds to everything in town at one final poker game, a
rifle bearing marksman who is out to shoot all those he always wanted to
kill, a slick traveling salesman whose in denial about the days events, an
amorous waitress who is saving rats and looking for one last fling and the
towns new female gym teacher who somehow ends up in the middle of it all).
Intelligent and humorous, everything is kept low key. The show zeros in on
this well defined group of strangely upbeat small town folk as they
unceremoniously come to grips with their impending doom.then God walks into
the bar. Yes, it sounds like the setup for a bad joke but that's what
happens.he then approaches Shep with an offer that's out of this world.
Funny, witty and intelligent with a surprisingly upbeat end, it's a show
that has something for everyone.

In fact Variety wrote: "Early One Evening at the Rainbow Bar & Grille" is a
serio-comic tale of love, death, rebirth and a very strange book deal. The
preposterous, but often affecting and almost always hilarious proceedings
are peppered by visual shtick and one liners."
