And the Ohio Region of the Dramatists Guild wants you to be prepared!
On Saturday, November 12th, from 9:00 a.m. to 3:45 p.m., the Dramatists
Guild presents: DIY: Self-Production for Playwrights, Composers and
Lyricists writing for the stage. The event takes place at the 14th Street
Theatre, on PlayhouseSquare and is open to all interested parties, FREE OF
CHARGE.
On the agenda are two presenters from the New York office
DG national membership director, Roland Tec, presents a "Self-Production
Primer: Brass Tacks," covering the fundamentals of budgeting and scheduling.
DG Director for Business Affairs, David Faux, conducts two sessions: "The
Author as CEO" examines how to maintain and protect your intellectual
property portfolio through properly structured agreements; and "The
Dramatists Bill of Rights" reviews what artists need to know about
constitutional and copyright laws - all with a minimum of legalese.
PlayhouseSquare, the nation's second largest performing arts center, has
graciously offered to host the event, as well as conduct an optional tour
of the center following adjournment of the meeting.
